opinions on eye issue? - N. sexfaciatus

if it's a scar then it may have come from a bite or possible scratch on a rock, I have had pretty good luck medicating with melafix and pimafix for about a week, I use both because if its not a scratch/wound but something else I covered both ways, but as Dragon said if it gets too far along the eye may not be repairable any longer

I have a C. moorii with the same problem. Fortunatly for him is have an extra spot to keep him as he would survive in my Peacock/Hap tank.

I tried salting him but it didn't have any effect on the eye. Once it gets to that point I think they a pretty much blind for life in the effected eye.

I sure someone else will chime in as well.

I have a Neolamprologus sexfaciatus that appears to have cloudy cyst or white scar tissue over one eye. I noticed it a several weeks back, and the fish is apparently blind out of that eye.

Today it appears that the eye has slightly worsened in that there is a bit more distension of the outer eye covering (the eye isnt distending, the outer layer of the eye appears to be slightly elevated.

It's eating fine (depending on sighting food out of its good eye) and doesnt appear to be in any distress.

Any ideas?
