DK-
    Clearly fish straight from the Rift Lakes thrive in the higher PH rage.

    Are your fish wild fish?  If not, I wonder whether the higher Ph may pose a challenge if they were conceived and grown out in a lower Ph environment?

    ... just a thought.  I am in a lul too for some reason.  Except for the phenos, which wont stop.

I have had a breeding lul in the last few months. Also had trouble with mothers spitting Azureus and Gigas and an Acei both spit recently.

So I decided to test my water last night and this is what I got.

Ammonia = around 0

Nitrites = around 0

Nitrates = about 10ppm

Ph = was I believe higher than the card went. <8.4

Could this high Ph be the problem. I know that the Malawians, Tangs, and Vics love the higher Ph and hardness but what is considered 2 high?

Thoughts?
