Nice haul in one night!  That can of shake'n'spray pheromones must have done the trick.

Granted we probably don't share the same problem- but my dry spell just broke (Finally!).

not sure if it was the time change or early spring fever but there must have been an orgy in my fishroom last night
holding as of this morning:
bi-color
Imperial Tigress
blue neon hai reef
mloto undu
mloto flouresant
yellow lab
konsigni mbengi
albino ngara (I envy this guy, he's a machine)

now to figure out the fry tank stradegy

Making triple bbs, and providing a gorge session each evening, appears to have worked seeing that my blackfin cyps just popped.

i should get a test kit - but i think lights and lids for my tanks are more important.

I wish it was just the azureus. Its everything right now. That is kinda why I was looking at the high Ph, or something else.

Ray....Yea I'm using the liquid drip test kit. It's probably close to a year old. I should check and see if there is an expiration date on it.

always had problems with my Azureus, had to start trapping them and catchin what I could, only was able to get 2 eggs to hatch thru the tumbler, any extra hate and discontent in the tank lately? that sometimes will have the females spitting or swallowing

what kind of test kits are you using? are they the dip strips? i have heard of those not being very accurate as they get older.

i used to use the test tube kind, i thought it was pretty good i was always around 7.4/7.6

i know that PH has an effect on spawning of certain species of apistogramma, but you dont keep those species and keep those dumb malawians -  ;D

i know my demasoni are still at it i just dont want to bother pulling the fry if they spit so if the survive they survive. i have been waiting on my bircardi pair to spawn and they havent yet but i dont test water conditions. i think i need to introduce a new feeding regement for them as the previous owner fed adult bring and blood worms every few days.

It may be possible that the erratic weather, in terms of the inconsistent and often swirling Hi/Lo pressure systems has them out of whack?  Perhaps someone with a bit more of a sophisticated perspective on this may be able to chime in...

Ya know.... I know that weather patterns I.E. Highs and Lows in the pressure system influence native game fish up here as to whether they spawn or not. That could be some of the problem. I wonder if the erratic pressure fluctuations are annoying them.

I cannot really comment too much more on the Ph question.  If I have the chance to dig out my test kit, I will take a look at what I have.

I am in a slow period with my cyps and featherfins though, which is why I turned up the heaters, increased salinity, and have put the bbs on overtime in the last week.

None of my fish are wilds. I am wondering if since the cold weather really set in if the Ph of my tap water supply came up. It seems weird but I just don't have any other explanation for why they would have just stopped breeding.
