I need to get out of this heat. Going north for a while.
Got my brother to watch the fish. Last time all I had was one tank with a pair of oscars. He managed to overfeed and poison the female, the male jumped out and rotted behind the tank for a week.
Gonna give him another shot though cause there isn't much choice.
I'll set out premeasured cups of food for the adults- twice a week should be more than enough.
A couple buckets of conditioned water for him to add if tanks get low.
airstones in each tank in case the filters have problems- told him just unplug instead of messing with if not working.
I'm not worried about the three tanks of adults.
But what do I do about the fry?
Is a pinch of powdered flake twice a week going to be enough to keep them going? Do I risk having him add a "tiny little dab" of microworms or maybe a cube or frozen brine shimp?
How about no water changes for two weeks?- just add a little fresh once.
Ten gallon tanks, 50-75 fry in each,Rams, Kribensis, apistos. all 1/4" or less, Air powered sponge filter and small hang on back for each tank.
I'm I going to come back to a bunch of dead fry?
How long can they go without problems?
I've got three ten gallon tanks with around 50-75 small fry in each. They're just getting started on crushed flake food.
