lymphosystis is a viral, it gets INTO cuts and abrasions it has to have broken "skin" in order for lymphosystis to happen.

Also lymphosystis can and does infect internal organs not just the "skin"

Looks and acts nothing like red sore disease. Narrowed it down to lymphosystis.

Ph has nothing to do with it.

Anyways, it sounds like and looks like "red sore disease" its very common in game fish due to their habits of hitting rocks and things and getting an abrasion.

I have an angel fish with this. He has lived for over a year with it. I was thinking lateral line erosion or hexamita. I have treated him with heat and salt about 85-90. Everytime it goes away. Then when I add him back with other fish it comes right back. Originally he was with several angels that all died from this one by one. For some reason he is the only surviver. PLease let me know if you discover a permanent solution. Strange disease, it doesn't ever seem to infect other fish he's with.

Nope. I have seen it at the base of the dorsal fin, at the base of the pectoral fins, and the gill plate as seen here. Haven't really seen it in the middle of the body or near the tail.

does the sore/spot always show up right behind the eye?

Ever since just before the Classic something has been systematically killing my haps/peacocks in my 125. I think it is a parasite but I'm not sure what. Any info would be helpful.

Pic is of a C. borleyi. The site has gone from reddish (almost looking like a pimple) to white and kinda looking like it healing. Last night I raised the temp from 76* to 82* and added 2cups of salt. If you have seen something like this, do you know what it is? Treatments? The spot is directly behind the eye. Ignore the cloudy eye that is from the camera and my poor pic taking skills!

Same fish different view.

Let me know what you think.
