I am sorry to admit that I only have the penguin 350 on each of the 55gal. I did a wc on Monday and then replaced the filter cartridge on wednesday and then did a another wc on saterday. I have a 125gal that I am trying to set up, so my idea was to combine the 55gal into that 125. But I haven't gotten the help to help me move the tank inside my house from my the garage. My other idea was to even out the fish in both 55gal, so 11 in each, to decrease the load in one tank. Should I do that while I set up the 125gal?

Wouldn't removing the fish stress it more? Also, I only have a 10gal to spare or another 55gal with some other fish in there. In the 55gal I only have 6 fish though. 2 zebras,  3 talapia, and a small peacock or some sort.
Should I move it to that tank?

The water temp is 78-79 deg and I changed my filter cartridges in the penguin 350 yesterday along with the wc. Just some more info.
I have 17 fish total in a 55gal tank. I did two water changes this week more than I usually do because the nitrate levels were high and I had a lemon drop cichlid die last week.

Your next step is to quarantine the sick fish.  Without pics it sounds like some kind of fungus,  or it just got really stressed out by the change for whatever reason.

I would:

Quarantine it in a 20 or 30 gallon tank with 25% water from the sick tank
Add Prime and Salt to the water  when filling the other 75%
Slowly raise the temp to 82*
Use a good sponge filter as well as a big air stone for maximum diffusion at the surface
Watch closely over the next day or two and DO NOT FEED.
If it seems to improve over that timespan,  feed just enough that you know it ate
Slowly increase the feeding over the next 3 or 4 days
If all goes well,  slowly reduce temp back to that of your regular tank over the course of 72 hours and re-introduce

One more thing:  That auratus is a REAL NASTY fish and so is the Kenyi.  Your peacock is severly outgunned in that tank,  and the stress may have finally caught up to him.  I would not mix the P back in with them.

I did a water change yesterday, about a 30% change in a 55gal. I have other malawian cichlids in there, like red zebras and kenyi and auratus. The peacock was doing fine yesterday and this morning but in the afternoon, it starting showing these unhealthy symptons. I added water conditioner yesterday along with my water change but thats it. So I talked to somebody on here and they recommended to add salt so I did so today. I fed the fish and it seems to be eating. All the other fish are ok. The one fin is stuck to the body and it only uses one fin to swim around. What and how did this happen? What can i do further to ensure that the fish lives?

It doesnt need to be Prime, but at least a water conditioner.

Give us some more details please.  Tankmates,  anything new in the tank.  Recent water change?  Have you done water tests?  What are the readings?

Anyhow,  a water change is the first step,  but Ray omitted something very important in my opinion.  Sometimes the water change is the culprit!  So,  when you do the water change,  be sure to add "Prime" conditioner and aquarium salt.  These 3 things when used toegther will remedy most things stress and minor disease related.  Do a water change immediatley.  30 - 50%.  Then do it again in 3 days,  and again in 3 days.  Each time using the salt and Prime.

Keep us updated please.

A water change is always the first step in helping sick fish.
