Ok, I transfered the peacock in my other 55 with the talapia last night. He seems to be doing fine right now. He is freely  swimming and he seems to have his color back to dark blue. Although his fins are all frayed. I will keep you guys updated on his status. Thank You all for all the help, it is greatly appreciated. Any other suggestions are welcomed, since I am new to keeping cichlids.

personally I keep peacocks and mbuna together all the time with no issues. In a 55 with that many fish, I highly doubt it is an issue that arose from aggression. It's like Tropheus, enough that no one fish can be picked on more than another. I also wouldn't think the water change would do it either, although what you did with doing a water change and replacing the cartridge is a no no. You do have a lot of fish in that tank, so weekly water changes if not bi-weekly would be recommended. Also, add some filtration, even if it is a few sponge filters.

Salt is good. It doesn't harm the fish at all, and will help with the slime coat and heal wounds so they won't get infected.

If it's eating, that is a good sign. When a fish doesn't eat, that is when you have real trouble.

Any other symptoms?
Scraping against rocks, rapid breathing, stringy white craps, bloated, anything on the fish that is visible to the naked eye that shouldn't be there or is unusual?

I have a confession. I'm a cichlaholic.

I'm about the last person you should ask about mbuna. Unless its a demasoni i don't know anything about it.

Listen to keeper when it comes to peacocks, he's got 30+ tanks of peacocks alone.

that peacock doesn't fit in very well with any in that crowd, you are at a crossroads right now, find another tank for that peacock and add mor to it that will fit in with him or leave him with the tankmates he has now and lose him

Rm-solver, what do you think I should do? Should I even out the two 55 with 11 fish in each?
Which fish should I put into the other 55gal? I have 3 talapia and 2 red zebras and one peacock in that one. I am thinking about putting the kenyi's in this tank or the zebras, what do you think?

I'm thinking he re-cycled the tank when he did the WC.

I wouldnt think an adult peacock would be that effected by a WC.

red zebras and kenyi and auratus = eventual and certain stress related death for that peacock

No removing it will not stress it more.  Being sick and crowded with auratus and kenyi will lead certainly lead to it's death.  Quarantine it in the 10.  If you need a 30,  I'll loan one to ya.  In the meantime,  get one as a spare.  They are always good for "Q" purposes.

Next up,  never replace all filter media at once.  That removes all the good bacteria.

The following applies only if the Emporer is your only filter in the tank:
That coupled with the water change is what did your peacock in.  Add some prime and salt and leave the tank alone for a couple days.  Add some airstones if you can,  and leave the lights off with no food for 48 hours.  You did a lot of damage with that water change and filter change.

Is the Emporer the ONLY filter on this tank???
