white stuff on glass

Sounds like hydra. It won't go away with just water changes, or if you wipe it from glass. Hydra can't stand salt, so just add some aquarium salt to your tank ant that will kill it.

So I say to her……There is plenty of stuff at the house for the baby to eat!!!! I REALLY need this fish……

cleaning it off is kinda hard to do because it gets on all 4 side of the tank.  i'll try that theory.

it isnt harmful to the fish but since i can only have a few tanks i prefer them to be "show" tanks. it just looks kinda bad on the tank.

I wouldn't worry about it.  I've seen what you are talking about in my tanks.  It happens when you do big water changes, right?  If you wipe the glass they disappear, correct?  I wouldn't add any chemicals unless you need to.

If the white stuff looks like very tiny worms, then that is usually indicative of a water quality issue. Do a water change and add some Aquarisol (a copper agent), per package instructions.

If the worms are caused by a water change, or occur after a water change I wonder what this means.  Are the filters in need of a cleaning?  What are the little "white worms"?

possible it could be hydra, but that is more pink, and wouldn't be coming in new tanks. Would come in with baby brine shrimp if you feed it,

I have a confession. I'm a cichlaholic.

it mainly appears on the newer tanks and sometimes after a large water change. I'll look into the aquarisol. i usually add prime to my tanks after a water change.

i have been noticing that i have started to get white stuff on my tank glass. it covers all 4 sides of the tank and is somewhat free flowing. it is in all of my tanks especially the newer set up tanks. my two tanks that have been set up the longest seem to have it as well but very little.
