Nice. I hope to have my wild Rio Comal going soon. I got 3 at an inch from Dave S. and thought I had all girls, but I actually got a boy.

I'm consistently surprised how some of these larger NW species can sucessfully breed at such a young adult size.

Round two?  I'm not even on round one yet.  Where'd all the fry go?  These texas are really outgoing and quite the lookers.

I think I need to add some substrate back to the tank, right now it bare bottom.  I have a flower pot, some pvc and some capped pvc per your suggestion.

Round One Fry are all in a 10g. I agree about gravel - get a real small size.  You should be all set.

Unfortunately, I do not.  A guy was perusing my tanks and made me an offer on the princesses.  Undecided  Which is part of the reason I was asking if you had more...I miss mine.

Will sand work?

That's pretty cool to have a legitimate version of the only cichlid native to the U.S.  Kinda makes me want to take a little drive down to texas.
