Hey mike sorry to hear about your losses a lot of ponds and garden ponds took a beating this year some of my friends were changing water every nite to lower temp but next night they were back in the upper 80's they even put those canopies (portable) over them but still heated up. well good luck next year mike

All dead. Probably the heat?

Nuts. Too late in the year to restart.

Anyone want some free hornwort, let me know.

Ponds will be emptied tomorrow.

I settled on 12 cherry barbs (6 albino and 6 regular) and about 15 platies.

A ton of hornwort. No filtration. I may start feeding them next week. The ponds aged for a week or so and were full of mosquito larvae. The platies went right after them and the bugs seem to be gone.

I still need to add some sort of screen - otherwise the dragonfly larvae will clean me out of fish.

I don't use any filtration. Lots of plants. I dont have a ton of fish in there, either. Maybe 12 mbuna.

Mike, do you need filtration on the stock tanks or do you not overstock them?

it's a look down stock tank - no glass.

I am thinking cobalt, ob, red or albino "zebras".

Labs need not apply.

But I might just do swordtails.

More soon.
