  1. Show is open to all. GCCA membership is not required.
  2. Entry fee is $3.00 per entry. An entry is one fish of the Cichlidae family. Only 1 fish may be shown per tank.
  3. No limit to the number of entries per person.
  4. 10G tanks/sponge filters/air will be provided. 20G tanks may be requested for large cichlids, but are not always available. Tanks will be setup/filled with dechlorinated water. You may bring a sponge filter, but not your own tank.
  5. Cash Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Best of Divisions A,B,C. Best of Show, Reserve Best of Show.
    - 3rd place in each class: $5
    - 2nd place in each class: $10
    - 1st place in each class: $15
    - Division Winner: $25
    - Reserve Best of Show: $35
    - Best of Show: $50
  6. No decorations, plants, etc., allowed in show tanks unless authorized by the Show Chairman.
    The Show Committee reserves the right to disqualify fish based on deformities, illness, poor condition, health or death. Hybrids are not permitted. Albinos are permitted.
  7. The show room hours are as follows: Friday 6 pm to midnight; Sat 8am to 2pm and re-opens after banquet until 12pm; Sun. 7am to 11am.
  8. All entries must be setup by 11 am Saturday, May 24.
  9. Judging will take place on May 24 at Noon. The decision of the judges/show committee are final.
  10. All Entries must be removed from the show room on Sunday, May 25 between 7AM and 11 AM.
  11. All entries must be received by May 18.
  12. The GCCA will not be held responsible for any loss, damage, theft or injury.
The Greater Chicago Cichlid Association — GCCA — is a not-for-profit, educational organization, chartered in the state of Illinois, dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of information relating to the biology of the fishes in the family Cichlidae, with particular emphasis on maintenance and breeding in captivity. We are simply cichlid hobbyists who love cichlids.
